Administration & Finance

ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for budgets and financial reports. It recommends budget policy guidelines for parish and school, and reviews and approves budgets, and receives quarterly financial reports. The maintenance arm of this committee is responsible for the church and school repair and upkeep. Membership in this committee is by appointment of the pastor.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

The mission of the Stewardship Committee is to promote volunteerism and stewardship in our parish community. The committee works toward the following goals:

1) Bring awareness to the parish community of the various volunteer opportunities, organizations and ministries available within the parish.

2) Work with the Parish administrative staff in managing the annual stewardship appeal.

3) Coordinate one community building event annually.

4) Identify opportunities to recognize parishioners for their gifts of time and talent to the parish.

The committee meets one evening monthly for approximately 1 hour. The Stewardship Committee seeks members with many different skills and talents. Please contact Nancy Rague, 614-529-0225, for more information.

 PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council is composed of the pastor and appointed representatives of the parish whose primary function is to discern the present and future needs of St. Agatha Parish and to direct responsibly the resources at hand to the fulfillment of those needs. Some council members serve as liaisons to some of the parish organizations and programs. At monthly council meetings, members communicate the activities and needs of these groups as well as any other concerns of parishioners.

HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

The purpose of the Home & School Association is to encourage communication and mutual assistance among the School, the Church and the home, to provide programs to promote child welfare, and to raise funds for financing school improvements and programs. Meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday in the school library.

          SCRIP

This is the parish fundraiser that lets you help St. Agatha by doing your regular shopping. There are no extra products to buy or sell. You earn money back for things you already buy, like gas and groceries. Simply shop with gift cards purchased for face value through our program and each company rebates a percentage of your purchase back to St. Agatha. Each participating family’s profits may be directed two different ways: 75% goes to the Parish Operating Fund OR 50% goes to St. Agatha tuition, PSR tuition, any Catholic High School tuition, or the Tuition Assistance Funds for St. Agatha. The other portion of the profits benefits St. Agatha School.

You can accumulate hundreds of dollars in your account that let you reduce your tuition and earn much needed funds for our church and school. If just 200 families purchased $500 of Scrip gift cards every month for a year, the parish could raise almost $72,000. The more Scrip you use, the more money you earn. Buy Scrip gift cards after the weekend Masses or through the church and school offices.

SCHOOL BOARD

The School Board functions as an advisory board whose purpose is to develop and define the policies which govern the operation of the school. Its primary concern is the intellectual and spiritual development of the students. The Board consists of the Pastor, the School Principal, Home & School Association President, Past School Board President, and nine elected members whose children attend St. Agatha School or are registered parishioners of St. Agatha Church. Three members are elected each year for a three-year term. Open meetings are conducted the second Tuesday of each month in the school library. No meetings in December or July.
